Thomas "Tommy" Farrell (Irish: Tomás Ó Fearail) (born in 1937 in Dublin) is a former Irish football player who played as a centre half. Uncle of Colin Farrell, he began his career at Home Farm F.C. and signed for Shamrock Rovers F.C. in 1957.
He earned two Inter-League caps while at Glenmalure Park and made 7 appearances in the European Champion Clubs' Cup, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup against SK Rapid Wien and Valencia CF amongst others.
Farrell made one B appearance for the Republic of Ireland national football team in 1960. He broke his nose while touring the United States in the summer of 1961.[1]
Farrell won his first FAI Cup medal in 1962 alongside his brother Eamonn.[2] He shared a benefit game with Tony Byrne in May 1965.[3]
In December 1965 Farrell was suspended by Rovers for a breach of discipline.[4] He signed for Waterford United in December 1966.[5]
